The English language

Every year, 8000 new words are invented, but where did the English language come from? The answer lies in where the English came from, Germany. In north Germany, there was a small region called anglen, inhabited by angles. The angles migrated to an island called britain around the year 450 and that island was then named angle-land, or England. The angles took the german language with them and that’s why we use words like kindergarten or uniform, but, german words only make up a quarter of the english language, most of the other words we use are latin, spanish, french, etc. So what is a TRUE english word ? A word that was invented at the time after the angles migrated but before they made a new language. If you can find an original english word, leave it (as well as your sources) as a comment to be named the EINSTIEN OF THE WEEK (first entry wins).
Ok. I like cheese.
Spoken-word language provides us with a sense of what things mean, by presenting us with correlation between our vocal sounds and the things which make up our world. We are affected emotionally by the sounds of words while we think of the things to which those words refer. The simultaneous juxtaposition between the feelings from the sounds and the thoughts of the things suggests to us that the feelings come from the things, when actually they come from the sounds of the words. This is the “magic” of the spoken word. Like all magic, it is an illusion. We need to free ourselves from the SPELL of the spoken word.
